![]() ![]() NO WAY! According to bulletins, I pay nothing and the dealer handles the costs. They want me to pay parts and labor and they reimburse me. Right now, I a fighting with Chrysler as to how the payment should work. Well, a month ago when I was online, I discovered they are making after market assemblies. The dealer told me, find the parts and we will fix it for free. Now, several years ago Chrysler obsoleted the parts so there were no parts available. These parts or the entire unit should be replaced totally free of charge. Your first step is to take it to a Chrysler dealer and have them verify the problem. All Bendix parts were re-warrantied to 100,00 miles except the actuator, pump and pump assembly which are lifetime warrantied. I am going through the same issue, but I have the solution. Hopefully they got it in today to get the repairs started.Īnd as usual, I'll keep you posted! ![]() For whatever reason the repair work for my vehicle was not started yesterday. Guess what, It was still sitting right where I parked it sixteen hours earlier but they did lock my doors and that is a plus for them because at least that shows me that my local dealer does care about my vehicle. So anyway, this morning (1:00 AM) when I got off of work I drove past the dealer on the way home to see if my van had been moved from where I parked it and to see if they had locked my doors before they closed for the day. ![]() I looked at Jeff and told him that I was surprised that he could get five recalls fixed in a single day. I asked him how long it would take to get the brake system fixed and the other various recalls fixed and to my shock he said "I should have everything done by this evening". When I took my 93 to the dealer yesterday morning Jeff the service tech told me that the last time the Bendix ABS recall had been completed on my 93 Dodge was in 1996! If anyone has already gotten their van fixed by this recall please share your experience with me so I can get this fixed without any problems. I guess my question is, what do I need to do to get Chrysler to fix this and what should I expect from Chrysler? I know this is an expensive fix and I really hope that Chrysler doesn't try to give me a hard time about it. If this is true I would expect that I should not have a problem getting this fixed free of charge right? I have read that there was a recall about this and also read that the abs brake actuator piston assembly and the pump have a lifetime warranty because of all the class action lawsuits against Chrysler. My pump motor runs all the time and the yellow abs and the red brake light is always on. I have been searching the net and visited the NHTSA learning about the bendix 10 recall and firmly believe that my abs brake actuator piston assembly is shot. I just purchased a 1993 Dodge Grand Caravan SE and after getting the transmission replaced realized that the ABS system is or has failed. Hopefully someone has had experience with this and can answer some questions for me. When that occurs, the system automatically intervenes based on the quick change in lateral acceleration it sees and immediately applies the trailer brakes to slow the vehicle and help mitigate a potential rollover.I have been doing some research about the bendix 10 abs systems and am curious about a few things.
